Custom WordPress Theme For Themeforest
Project Overview
Busico is a multipurpose business and technology WordPress theme originally developed for construction companies, building services, and business websites. I contributed to the ongoing development and expansion of the theme, focusing on extending its functionality and making it more versatile for a wider range of users.
As part of the project, I developed two additional homepage variations, implemented full RTL support, and integrated WooCommerce functionality into the theme. These additions required working within the existing theme architecture while maintaining consistency with its design system and ensuring that the new features worked smoothly across different layouts and devices.
The project also involved testing, refining, and adapting the existing components to ensure the new functionality integrated naturally with the theme.
Challenge
The main challenge was extending an established WordPress theme without disrupting its existing design, functionality, or user experience. The new features needed to feel like a natural part of Busico rather than separate additions.
Adding new homepage layouts required maintaining the theme’s existing visual language while introducing enough variation to give users more design choices. RTL support also required careful adjustments to layouts, spacing, alignments, and directional elements so the theme could properly support right-to-left languages.
Integrating WooCommerce introduced another layer of complexity, as the theme needed to accommodate shop and product-related layouts while remaining consistent with the existing styling and responsive behavior.
Results
The improvements expanded Busico from a construction-focused business theme into a more flexible WordPress solution with additional layout and functionality options.
The two new homepages gave users more flexibility when building their websites, while RTL support made the theme accessible to a wider international audience. WooCommerce integration also introduced the ability to build eCommerce experiences alongside the theme’s existing business and service-focused features.
Through this contribution, I helped extend the capabilities and market reach of an established commercial WordPress theme while maintaining compatibility with its existing ecosystem.
